For every visit, you need to bring:
Government photo ID (drivers license, status card, provincial/territorial photo card, passport)
PLUS - a recent bill / piece of mail with address (dated within past month) - ODSP/government letters, rent reciept, utility bill, etc (bills/reciepts shown on phones is fine - so many communications are electronic these days!). You must live in Walden - however - if you reside in Copper Cliff, your home food bank is Inner City Home.
If this is your first visit, in addition to the above, we will require:
Health cards for children in household
Government photo ID for additional adults in household (same address)
Please bring your own reusable bags if you have them.
You are able to visit our food bank once per calendar month.
When you arrive to the food bank, please choose the next number hanging on the exterior windows. We call in order when we are ready for the next client.
You will register at the front desk, making sure to have your necessary ID and recent bill ready.
After your visit is logged, you will venture towards one of two distribution tables, where our volunteers will go over our offerings for the week, and you indicate whether you require the item(s) or not. We ask that everyone bags their own groceries after its on the table.
We are open every Thursday from 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Please grab a number when you arrive so you are in the queue! We will call your number in when it's your turn.
Note: lineups generally start earlier!
Unfortunately, we do not keep stock of baby items. A fabulous resource for these is the Pregnancy Care Centre & Infant Food Bank.
Please contact us via phone or email and we can work out details to help with this. We'll need information and ID for the designated pick up person. We understand that it may be difficult to make it in once in a while.
No, you may only visit the food bank allocated to your postal code.
